Forget Star Wars, today would have been Audrey Hepburn’s 87th birthday!
Welcome to May the 4th be with Audrey Hepburn! The blog posts from the world wide web are pouring in this morning. Here’s the ones that have been submitted so far looking at the films of Ms. Hepburn’s career:
The Mayerling by Define Dancing
Charade by Coffee, Classics, & Craziness
Two for the Road by Cinema Cities
How to Steal a Million by Three Enchanting Ladies
The Nun’s Story by Defiant Success
Breakfast at Tiffany’s by Little Bits of Classics
Audrey Hepburn’s childhood sketches by Phyllis loves Classic Movies
Love in the Afternoon by Critica Retro
We love Audrey Hepburn for her kindness, sophistication, and style but she was so much more. I keep seeing outlets post about her being perfect but not many discuss her feminism and strength. I spoke with bloggers Simoa of Define Dancing, Kristen Lopez of Journeys into Classic Film, and Maureen Lee Lenker to look at why Audrey Hepburn needs to be given credit as a feminist figure. Take a listen to part 1 of a special podcast, Why Audrey Hepburn should be remembered as the badass she was.
Enjoy today friends and when someone says May the 4th Be With You and wants to talk Star Wars, school them on the awesomeness that is Audrey Hepburn. 🙂
