Bette Davis: The accidental horror queen

In 1962, Bette Davis revitalized her career with the camp/horror classic Whatever Happened to Baby Jane. The film was a huge success and Davis would continue to make thrillers playing grotesque characters. In a special podcast, Emmy-award winning reporter Paul Milliken of FOX 5 Atlanta and I talk about our favorite Davis performances and how this career trajectory has inspired a new generation of actresses. Paul is a feature reporter for Good Day Atlanta. Ten years ago, I was his intern at News 13 in Orlando, Florida. We bonded over our love of Mariah Carey and news but we didn’t learn we share an interest in Classic Hollywood until later. In this podcast we make up for lost time thanks to Ms. Davis’ lengthy career and the endless buffet of thriller films that started with Baby Jane and went all the way to her final film, Wicked Stepmother, in 1989.
